Pinwheel Tutorial

Making pinwheels is easier than you think! I was going to buy some for Annie's birthday party off Etsy. But after reading how to make them, I decided to try it myself. Yall... I made eight pinwheels in less than 10 minutes. It is SO easy! Now I'm obsessed and want to make them for everything. So here is a little tutorial on how to make them and then some fun ways to use them!
((let me side note here... the tutorials from other blogs have more descriptions and better pictures so check those out for the real deal.))

  1. Start with square double sided paper. For smaller pinwheel use 4" x 4" square.
  2. Draw diagonal lines across your square to join up the corners. Then, mark the center of the square with a dot, and draw an additional dot at each of the corners.
  3. Use a pair of scissors to cut along the diagonal lines. Then, use a hole punch or pin to punch a hole through each of your dots.
  4. Line the dots on the outer edge of your pinwheel up with the dot in the center. Push a tack through the dots to hold everything together. I used paper clips because that is what I had at the house. Put pin (or paper clip) into a straw. And you're done! Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

And here are my finished pinwheels!  So cute, right?

Here are some more fun ways you can use pinwheels that I've found on different blogs.
Enjoy!

love to love ya!
